Ready for Rhubarb
It’s rhubarb season! Here are 5 ways to use it.
- Simple Rhubarb Cake—I found this recipe last summer, and it has become a favorite. It’s truly simple to put together and not overly sweet, in a good way.
- Easy Rhubarb and Strawberry Crisp, or if you’re feeling up to it, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. I promised my kids I would try my hand at a strawberry rhubarb pie this year. My crusts are getting better. 🙂
- Rhubarb Syrup to make into mocktails and cocktails, including this Rhubarb Gin Sour Cocktail. For the mocktails, we put an ounce or so of the syrup in a low ball glass with ice and top with club soda or sparkling water. My kids love it.
- Fermented Rhubarb with Cardamom and Ginger—I am so intrigued to try making this. It sounds like a really interesting combination, and I love the idea of it paired with whipped cream in the Rhubarb Fool recipe she includes in the post.
- Homemade Strawberry Rhubarb Soda—This would be so fun to make. I do not have time to dive into it, nor do I have a ginger bug, but if you do, you should try it and let me know how it works out.
Do you have any favorite ways to use rhubarb? I’d love to hear.
