Book Review: Playful by Merrilee Liddiard
I have followed Merrilee on Instagram for a while now. I love the creative things she comes up with. When I came across her book, Playful: Fun Projects to Make With + For Kids, at the library, I had to check it out. Literally!
Though I have not done any of the projects at this point, I am definitely adding this book to my wishlist. Merrilee has put together a book full of fun crafts that can be done with and for kids. I think she has a great mix of projects for girls, for boys, and for both. I also just generally like her style in the way she has painted and drawn the animals and doll faces.
Her projects span across the categories of paper crafts, dress up, toys, art, and repurposing of things like cardboard and duct tape to make something new. At the back of the book are all of the templates to go along with the projects.
The directions throughout the book seem very straightforward and clear. Each activity includes the materials needed and helpfully numbered instructions. There are also often pictures to illustrate each step of the craft.
If you are looking for a fun present for a mama friend, look no further than Merrilee’s Playful.
